DEK TQL:Provide Mature Performance and Accuracy for Large Circuit Board Printing

ASMPT's DEK TQ series, with its precision, processing speed, and floor area output ratio, has become the leading printing platform in the market today. In order to handle large circuit boards more flexibly, SMT leader ASMPT has now launched a new model: DEK TQ L, suitable for sizes up to 600 × 510 mm circuit board. The new solder paste printing machine has also created more new performance records and provided many functions for the open automation concept of ASMPT in integrated smart factories.

With a positioning accuracy of ± 12.5 microns @ 2 Cmk and a wet printing accuracy of ± 17.0 microns @ 2 Cpk, the DEK TQ platform has become one of the most accurate solder paste printing machines on the market. The new DEK TQ L is also designed based on ASMPT's philosophy of "providing maximum performance and flexibility in the smallest footprint space".As a special highlight, users can place two machines back to back, doubling the production capacity of the production line without increasing the length of the production line.

New features of DEK TQL
DEK TQ L provides electronic manufacturers with greater freedom to print large circuit boards up to 600 x 510 mm - the size of the circuit board is 90% larger than DEK TQ.The printable area is 560 × 510 mm, which is 78% larger than the original size.DEK TQ L is equipped with a three section transmission track that can transport circuit boards up to 345 mm long (DEK TQ can transport circuit boards up to 250 mm long).

Although the size of the circuit board has increased, in the three-stage operation mode, the maximum core cycle time is only 6.5 seconds (DEK TQ is 5 seconds). This device achieves these values through functions such as high-precision linear drive, new belt detachment printing process, innovative clamping system, advanced printing head, and unique ASMPT NuMotion controller with fiber optic cable. In addition, the efficient and high-speed steel mesh bottom cleaning system (USC) comes with a linear drive, which is 50% faster than the cleaning speed of traditional systems.Due to the PCB surface being over 90% larger, USC can be equipped with three different and easily replaceable steel mesh paper sizes.

The new printing machine is 1.3 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, covering an area of 1.95 square meters, which is only slightly larger than DEK TQ. Therefore, excellent footprint performance is ensured.

Zero stop line concept
According to cleaning requirements, the printing machine on the DEK TQ platform can run for more than 8 hours without user assistance. This is thanks to its optimized steel mesh bottom cleaning system, as well as its 22 meter long steel mesh paper and 7 liter solvent tank. These machines can also accommodate 11 meters of steel mesh paper and easily interchangeable vacuum inserts of different widths. In order to minimize manual assistance during the printing process, the DEK TQ printing machine can choose to be equipped with an efficient solder paste management system, which includes an automatic tin adding device and integrated solder paste height control, as well as individually configurable warning and stop thresholds.Another convenience is the optional double open cover (DAC), which allows for the replacement of solder paste cans without stopping the printing machine.

Gradually achieve automation
The DEK TQ platform follows the open automation concept of ASMPT and is used to gradually automate SMT production, allowing users to determine the speed and scope of automation they desire. The various expansion options of the machine are based on the same principle.

For example, the system can determine the position of the ejector pin on its own to prevent the circuit board from bending during the printing process. It automatically places thimbles with a diameter of 4 mm or 12 mm and verifies their position and height (as the only device in the industry that can achieve this function). On the DEK TQ L, due to the large size of the circuit board, the optional intelligent ejector pin placement frame can accommodate up to 60 ejector pins, which is twice the size of the DEK TQ.The DEK multifunctional combination splint system also provides more flexibility. With its software driven linear driver, ASMPT's universal and flexible clamping system can automatically adapt to the thickness and shape of each board. Therefore, DEK TQ can even perform reliable and high-quality printing in areas very close to the edges.
If the DEK TQ printing machine is combined with the Process Lens SPI system and the AI-driven WORKS Process Expert software, the entire printing process can be automatically controlled and optimized.

Easy integration through open interfaces
In order to integrate vertically and horizontally into users' production lines, materials, or production management systems as much as possible, various open and flexible interfaces and protocols can be used. This includes IPC-HERMES-9852 for communication related to circuit boards in the production line, as well as IPC-CFX for transmitting process data.We also provide ASMPT workflow solutions, such as using WORKS Printer Programming as part of the WORKS workshop management suite for offline programming. The suite also provides factory wide asset and maintenance management, as well as seamless machine to person communication. It also supports communication with third-party systems and IT systems (such as MES or WMS solutions), as well as a wide range of remote support solutions.

Larger footprint to output ratio and higher flexibility
Jens Katschke, Senior Process Solutions Manager at ASMPT, explained: Through DEK TQ L, we provide users with more flexibility, exploring new business areas and expanding production ranges with the precision, performance, and quality they are accustomed to. At the same time, the machine has excellent footprint performance. The new generation DEK TQ printing machine has various customized automation modules, making it an ideal choice for SMT manufacturers. They like to use open, non proprietary solutions to build their integrated smart factory 。”.
